A Family of Fans

Today we interviewed Brad and Debbie Avakian.

Brad and Debbie were high-school sweethearts who would often gather up a car load of friends to drive all the way across town to enjoy the Organ Grinder together.

They are also the parents of Nathan Avakian, who was thrilled as a child to experience the Organ Grinder and grew up to include playing the theatre organ as part of his career.

The piano in the background once functioned as Nathan’s childhood make-believe pipe organ, with a piece of paper representing stop tabs sitting on the music rack.

There’s a lot that drives this project: A passion for an amazing story, a sense of nostalgia, and the desire to deliver a complete, compelling feature-length documentary.
